I grew up in Louisiana. I currently live in the pacific northwest and I love gardening. My Cajun culture and tendencies are still a part of my identity, and I often feel like this cajun creature now in the lush forests of the western coast, growing things I could never have grown back where I grew up. This piece is kind of a reflection of myself, or perhaps an idealized feeling of the satisfaction of gardening.

Although Louisiana technically has alligators and not crocodiles, I love the skinny snout that crocodiles have, so I made the adjustment for the illustration.
